Enjoy these sourdough recipes for Father’s Day! Whether the Father figure in your life enjoys something sweet or savory, there are options everyone will enjoy.

There is something so sweet about Father’s Day. It brings me an abundance of joy to have a fantastic life partner and father to our kids, my husband Spencer. Not only is he a rock in our family but he is an avid recipe tester in our family. My heart is filled with joy to see no crumbs left behind as we devour each recipe.
My dad and father-in-law also have their favorites listed below, too. Whether it be something sweet (like sourdough cinnamon rolls) or something savory (like sourdough pretzel bites), there are no shortages of recipes perfect for Father’s Day.
These recipes are perfect for any gathering you may have. If you are bringing a dish to pass or making something special for breakfast and dessert, there are more options than can count.
Plus, with the nice weather, sourdough might be on the menu multiple times as we make a sourdough dutch baby for breakfast, hotdogs and burgers for lunch and have sourdough pretzel bagels with dinner. A sourdough menu is absolutely going to happen!
1. Sourdough Pretzel Bites

When I asked my husband what his favorite sourdough recipe I make is – he said it’s a tie between the sourdough pretzel bites and cinnamon rolls! We often make these when I double up a batch of sourdough pretzels. They are the great way to enjoy (along side with some cheese and an adult beverage or two – if you know what I mean!)
2. Sourdough Almond Croissant Cookies

If I had to guess my dads favorite sourdough recipe I make, this might be it. Though my dad is not dutch, he does have a hankering for all things almond! These cookies have two distinct layers – thanks to an almond frangipane layer in the center. They are not too sweet and pair perfect with a cup of decaf coffee or tea.
3. Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

These cinnamon rolls are my husband’s favorite (tied with sourdough pretzel bites) sourdough recipe. And if I had to guess, these sourdough cinnamon rolls would be my father in laws favorite sourdough recipe I bring to gatherings.
These sourdough cinnamon rolls are soft and fluffy, with a spicy cinnamon sugar filling. Though not shown above, we top them with a cream cheese frosting – which really makes them delicious.
4. Sourdough Pizza on a Traeger

Ah, the Traeger. It is one of our most used Kitchen appliances – if you can call it that! We make everything we can on the Traeger from beef brisket (and smoked tallow), smoked chicken breasts, and now sourdough pizza. We have the Pro 22 version.
5. Sourdough Chocolate Chip Bagels

Chocolate chip bagels are a staple in our household. These are slightly tangy and have chocolate in each bite.
6. Whole Wheat Sourdough Pizza Crust

This sourdough pizza crust is made with 90% whole wheat flour. The texture is light, fluffy and has a nutty flavor. It is the perfect pizza crust when you need a little extra staying power.
7. Sourdough Discard Garlic Knots

Don’t go kissing your loved ones after taking a bite of these garlic knots (unless they enjoy them, too!). In all seriousness, these garlic knots have garlic in various forms to give you exactly what you are looking for – soft and fluffy pull apart bread with all things garlic.
8. Sourdough Pretzel Bagels (Trader Joe’s Dupe!)

Just like our pretzel bites, these pretzel bagels are a favorite. Inspired by Trader’s Joes pretzel bagels – this ‘dupe’ might just be better than the original! These bagels are boiled in a baking soda bath before being baked in the oven to give the classic ‘pretzel’ flavor.
9. Sourdough Hawaiian Roll Sliders

We love using sourdough Hawaiian rolls to make sliders. These sliders are made with turkey lunch meat, swiss cheese and a delightful butter – mustard sauce. These are the perfect game day or graduation open house appetizer, too.
10. Sourdough Mozzarella Sticks

Mozzarella sticks might be one of our favorite appetizers. The gooey mozzarella cheese dipped in cold marinara sauce just makes us happy. These mozzarella sticks are a great way to use up leftover sourdough bread (to process into sourdough breadcrumbs) and make a great freezer prep item.
11. Sourdough S’mores Fudge Bars

If you like s’mores – try these sourdough fudge bars. They are made with three layers – a sourdough graham cracker crust, chocolate ganache and homemade marshmallow fluff.
If you ask my husband what his favorite part of this recipe is – it is the chance to break out a butane torch to roast the top of the marshmallows.
12. Sourdough Cheesy Pull Apart Bread

This cheesy sourdough pull apart bread is the ultimate sharable appetizer. The bread is actually pizza crust, which is wrapped around mozzarella cheese sticks.
We paired this with a smoked pizza dip and it was a hit with the entire family. Everyone enjoyed pulling a few sourdough pizza balls and slathering them with the pizza dip.
13. Sourdough Double Chocolate Chip Muffins

These double chocolate chip sourdough muffins are one of a kind. Make these with chocolate chips and cocoa powder for the ultimate chocolate lovers dream come true. Top them with turbinado sugar for an extra ‘bakery style’ crunch.
14. Sourdough German Pancake

It is no surprise a sourdough german pancake made it onto this list! Also known as a ‘dutch baby’, these large pancakes are equal parts soft, fluffy and custard-like. Top them with powdered sugar and enjoy alongside a breakfast quiche.
15. Sourdough Yogurt Lemon Loaf

Nothing scream spring and summer like the lovely flavors of lemon. This sourdough lemon loaf is made with lemon zest, lemon syrup and a lemon glaze for the ultimate citrus punch without being overly sour.
16. Sourdough French Toast Casserole (with chocolate chips)

Another crowd pleaser is this chocolate sourdough french toast casserole. If you have stale sourdough bread, consider making this recipe.
There is nothing better than french toast casserole to serve to a crowd (especially one who loves chocolate chips!).
17. Sourdough Discard Breadsticks (no yeast)

Sourdough breadsticks are a classic recipe. These remind me of Little Caesar’s breadsticks – with the soft exterior, fluffy interior and parmesan cheese on the top. We love dipping these in olive oil and balsamic or marinara sauce.
18. Sourdough Mac and Cheese Bites

Sourdough mac and cheese bites are a fun appetizer. This recipe uses cold Mac and cheese (fresh or leftover from the day before), to create a gooey – cheesy – bite. The coating is, you guessed it, sourdough breadcrumbs.
If you are having a laid back Father’s Day, bring these bites.
19. Sourdough Sheet Pan Pizza

A great family pizza night recipe is this sourdough sheet pan pizza. Roll the dough out, par bake it, and top it however you like. We tend to split the pizza in half with two different flavors (traditional red sauce + toppings and bbq sauce + toppings).
20. Sourdough BBQ Chicken Pizza

Like we mentioned earlier, chicken on the Traeger is one of our favorites. This BBQ chicken pizza is made with smoked chicken breasts, jalapeños, red onion and turkey bacon. It is a pairing we can never get too much of.
21. Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sourdough chocolate chip cookies are a classic recipe everyone needs to have in their back pocket. This recipe has pillowy-soft (yet chewy) cookies with chocolate chips in every bite. Everyone will ask for the recipe, we promise!
22. Sourdough Cheeseburger Focaccia

When we think ‘dad’, we think of grilling and burgers. This sourdough burger focaccia brings the two together in a way we never thought possible. The focaccia takes over proofed sourdough bread and pairs it with all the toppings you would put on a burger. Delicious!
23. Strawberry Shortcake (with sourdough pound cake)

This ‘fancy’ dessert is strawberry shortcake. A sourdough pound cake makes a wonderful base for this dessert. The pound cake is quite simple to prepare and does not take long to put together into a fancy parfait glass. Elevate your sourdough dessert recipe with this pound cake parfait.
24. Sourdough Brioche Pretzel Buns

If you like burgers and pretzels – this sourdough pretzel burger is the perfect fit. The bun is enriched with butter to make a pillowy – brioche style bun. If you are grilling out, this recipe is a must.
25. Sourdough Hamburger Buns

Why buy hamburger buns when you can make your own from scratch? This sourdough burger bun recipe is a great way to kick off Father’s Day preparation. Make them in advance (and even freeze them) for an easy day where everyone can kick back and enjoy the sourdough goodness.
